‘Masterclass’: Bondi flips script on Dem senator after suggesting she will weaponize DOJ
Conservatives on social media were thrilled with President-elect Trump’s attorney general nominee Pam Bondi’s response to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse during her confirmation hearing on Wednesday. Whitehouse questioned Bondi, asking if it was appropriate for a prosecutor to start with a name and look for a crime, to which Bondi replied by pointing out the federal government’s investigations into Trump.
Bondi emphasized the weaponization of investigations against Trump over the past four years and vowed not to politicize the office of the attorney general. She stated that justice must be administered impartially and that the country needs to come together to move forward.
The exchange between Bondi and Whitehouse quickly caught the attention of conservatives on social media. Eric Daughtery, assistant news director at Florida’s Voice News, praised Bondi for her response, calling it a “masterclass.” Greg Price, Trump ’24 deputy rapid response director, also commended Bondi for making Whitehouse look foolish.
Katie Pavlich, a Fox News contributor, highlighted Whitehouse’s statement about prosecutors needing to have a crime before looking for a suspect, contrasting it with the investigations conducted against Trump by the DOJ.
Despite the positive reception from conservatives, Fox News Digital reached out to Whitehouse’s office for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
Bondi is expected to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate, with speculation that she may garner some votes from Democrats.
