Multiple people struck and killed by Amtrak train near Philadelphia

Three members of a family in Pennsylvania tragically lost their lives after being struck by a train near Philadelphia on Thursday. Bristol Borough Police Chief Joe Moors revealed during a news conference that the victims, all adults, were hit by an Amtrak train en route from Boston, Massachusetts, to Richmond, Virginia. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. when authorities received reports of individuals on the tracks. An officer was approaching the group when the train collided with them, resulting in their deaths. It was reported that the victims were unable to move away from the tracks in time after hearing the train approaching.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the 236 passengers and crew onboard the Amtrak train. The investigation into the tragic event is being led by Amtrak Police in collaboration with the Bristol Borough Police Department.
