National Guard deployed in manhunt for survivalist accused of killing his three young daughters

The search for Travis Caleb Decker, the Washington state survivalist accused of killing his three young daughters, has intensified as authorities continue to hunt for him. The manhunt has been ongoing for more than a week, with Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson activating the state’s National Guard to assist in the search efforts.
Travis Decker disappeared after failing to return his children following a scheduled visitation, sparking a widespread search involving more than 100 officers and over 500 tips from the public. The focus on finding Decker has narrowed, with authorities releasing new surveillance video, photos, and tips to aid in their search.
The three young girls, Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia, were tragically found dead at a campground in Chelan County, with plastic bags over their heads and bound wrists. Decker, who is described as an avid outdoorsman with military experience, did not have legal custody of the girls at the time of their deaths.
Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison urged homeowners and individuals with mountain cabins to remain vigilant, lock their doors, and report any suspicious activity. Decker is believed to be capable of surviving in the wilderness for extended periods with minimal equipment, making the search challenging.
Authorities have not identified a motive for the killings, but Decker’s ex-wife, Whitney Decker, reported that he had missed the deadline to return their children, which he had never done before. Whitney also mentioned that Decker has mental health issues, including borderline personality disorder.
Decker drives a 2017 white GMC Sierra with Washington license plate D20165C, and his whereabouts remain unknown. He is charged with three counts each of aggravated first-degree murder and kidnapping, and authorities consider him to be dangerous. A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
Anyone who sees Travis Decker is advised to avoid approaching him and call 911 immediately. The manhunt for Decker continues as authorities work tirelessly to bring him to justice for the heinous crimes he is accused of committing.
