New Brunswick Prime Minister Blaine Higgs will shuffle his cabinet on Tuesday.
Two ministers resigned earlier this month, both protesting his leadership style and the changes made to the province’s policy on sexual orientation in schools.
Dorothy Shephard, who served as secretary of social development, resigned from the floor of the House on June 15 after voting with the opposition to call on the county’s child and youth advocate to consult with stakeholders about the changes being made in Policy 713 had been applied.
She said she was stepping down not only because of policy changes, but also because of Higgs’ habit of rejecting input from the cabinet and the Progressive Conservative caucus.
On Friday, Education Secretary Trevor Holder resigned, saying the caucus under Higgs was less about consensus and more about getting the prime minister to have his way.
It remains unclear whether the Prime Minister will go beyond replacing Shephard and Holder when the new cabinet is announced.
