Nominations open for 2023 Schwartz Furniture Spreading Cheer campaign

SYDNEY, N.S. — Nominations are now open for the 2023 Schwartz Furniture Spreading Cheer campaign.

This annual initiative seeks to honour local heroes in Cape Breton, who’ve gone the extra mile to inspire and uplift the lives of their families, friends, neighbours or the community.

Over the past four years, Schwartz Furniture, in collaboration with GE Appliances Canada, has awarded over $15,000 in GE appliances and gift certificates.

This year, Schwartz is set to gift a GE appliance package worth of $3,500 and two GE appliance credits of $1,000 each to three deserving nominees.

“Your hometown hero may be someone who has taken care of a loved one, cooked a meal for their community, or shovelled a walkway,” said Tessa Kendrick, Product Marketing and Purchasing for Schwartz Furniture.

“We know that there are many amazing people here in Cape Breton who deserve to win this prize, and we are excited to give this gift to a hometown hero this holiday season.”

Community members can submitted their nomination online until Dec. 3.

Winners will be announced on Dec. 18 through social media.
