Nova Scotia gas prices plunge overnight
Six-month lows in world oil prices played Santa to Nova Scotia motorists overnight, providing a significant break at the pumps for both gas and diesel.
In Thursday night’s regular weekly price adjustment, gasoline dropped from 160.3 cents for a litre of regular self-serve in Zone 1, which includes the Halifax area, to 153.9 — a 6.4 cents decrease.
And diesel plummeted as decisively as Santa down a chimney — coming to land at 189.5 cents, 8.5 cents a litre lower than last week.
Prices in the other five zones are slightly higher.
At this time last year, motorists were paying 141.2 cents a litre for gas and 230.7 for diesel.
