Nova Scotia police charge pair in connection with sexual assault of teenager

BRIDGEWATER, N.S. — Police have charged a man and woman in Bridgewater in connection with a sexual assault of a local teenager.

On Sept. 28, Bridgewater Police Services received a report of the alleged sexual assault that took place earlier that month.

Following the investigation, Matthew Finck and Miranda Young were arrested on charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.

Officers said both accused, known to the victim, are staying in Bridgewater from other parts of the province.

Finck has similar sexual assault convictions that date back to 2016. He was on a conditional sentence order at the time of the offence.

The two remain in custody and appeared at the Bridgewater Justice Centre on Nov. 22.
