Just one day after resuming due to a mechanical failure, ferry service between PEI and Nova Scotia has been canceled for the remainder of Sunday.

Northumberland Ferries sent a text message at around 2pm AT on Sunday to tell customers that MV Confederation will not operate between Wood Islands and Caribou due to “technical issues”.

The service was shut down on June 17. Service had resumed on Saturday after a part needed for the repair was installed in the vessel.

More to come.
