Halifax police seek vehicle involved in homicide last week

Halifax Regional Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle that was used by the suspect in the tragic shooting death of 38-year-old Uriah Lemar Black last week. The incident took place on McFatridge Road in the Fairview neighborhood of Halifax on Thursday, February 20th, around 6:20 a.m.

According to a police news release, officers responded to a report of a shooting and found the victim unconscious on a sidewalk. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The case is currently being treated as a homicide investigation.

Investigators have determined that the suspect was driving a blue Honda CRV at the time of the incident. They are urging anyone with information regarding the vehicle, its owner, or its current whereabouts to come forward and contact the authorities at 902-490-5020.

In addition to seeking information on the vehicle, police are also asking for any surveillance footage from McFatridge Road and surrounding streets between midnight and 6 a.m. on the day of the shooting. It is believed that this was not a random act of violence.

The image of the blue Honda CRV used by the suspect has been released by Halifax Regional Police, and they are hopeful that someone in the community may have seen the vehicle or have information that could assist in the investigation.

As the search for the suspect and the vehicle continues, the community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
