Oregon State head coach rips special teams after bizarre mishap

Oregon State Beavers head coach Trent Bray expressed his frustration with his team’s special teams unit during halftime of their recent 36-27 loss to Fresno State. The game took a turn for the worse when Beavers punter AJ Winsor mishandled a snap in the second quarter, leading to a 42-yard touchdown for Fresno State returner Jaden Carrillo.

Carrillo’s touchdown put Fresno State in the lead, prompting Bray to deliver a harsh message to his players before heading into the locker room. He criticized the team’s performance on special teams and defense, emphasizing the need to eliminate self-inflicted mistakes.

Despite a strong effort in the third quarter that briefly put Oregon State ahead, the team struggled in their subsequent possessions, ultimately falling to Fresno State. The game ended with an interception on the final drive, leaving the Beavers with a disappointing 0-2 record for the season.

On the other hand, Fresno State capitalized on their opportunities, scoring 16 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory and improve to 2-1 on the season.

As the Beavers continue to work towards their first win, Bray and his coaching staff will undoubtedly focus on addressing the issues that plagued them in the game against Fresno State. With adjustments and improvements, Oregon State aims to bounce back in their upcoming matchups.
