Man charged with aggravated assault after woman was attacked at Shubenacadie campsite

A woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being attacked early Saturday morning at a campsite in Shubenacadie.
RCMP said they were called to the campground on Highway 215 for a disturbance at about 2:15 a.m., and when they arrived they found the 23-year-old victim. The Dartmouth woman was rushed to hospital.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Halifax at the scene. He remains in custody and charges of aggravated assault are pending, RCMP spokeswoman Cindy Bayers said.
The victim and her attacker were in a motor home with two other adults when the woman was attacked after an argument.
The investigation continues.
