Pedestrian, driver seriously injured in Lunenburg crash

Two men were sent to hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle-pedestrian collision on the Lunenburg waterfront Friday.

RCMP said police, firefighters and paramedics responded to a crash on Bluenose Drive at about 9:45 a.m.

A Jeep Wagoneer had left the roadway and struck iron railings, masonry, lamp poles and a pedestrian on a walkway, RCMP said. 
 
The pedestrian, a 52-year-old Halifax man, and the driver of the Jeep, a 78-year-old Lunenburg man, suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital by paramedics.
 
The passenger in the vehicle, a 76-year-old Lunenburg woman, was not injured.
 
The collision remains under investigation, RCMP said.
