Biden health reports showed no signs of aggressive prostate cancer during presidency

Former President Joe Biden’s health records during his time in the White House did not indicate any signs of aggressive prostate cancer, a review of the health documents shows. The reports, conducted by former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor in 2021, 2023, and 2024, all showed that Biden was in good health and fit to serve as president.

In 2021, Biden’s first annual health report declared him a “healthy, vigorous” man. The report included routine screenings for heart, eyes, teeth, and gastroesophageal reflux. It also noted that Biden had multiple non-melanoma skin cancers removed prior to his presidency, but there were no areas suspicious for skin cancer during the 2021 physical.

The report did mention that Biden had been experiencing increased throat clearing and coughing during public events, but O’Connor attributed this to gastroesophageal reflux. The report also noted that Biden’s gait had become stiffer, which was attributed to wear and tear on his spine and mild sensory peripheral neuropathy of the feet.

In 2023, Biden underwent his second physical as president, delayed due to a busy schedule and a COVID-19 diagnosis in July 2022. The report found that Biden was in good health and fit to serve as president, with no significant changes since his 2021 physical. Routine skin cancer surveillance did find a small lesion on Biden’s chest, which was removed without issue.

In his final physical examination as president in 2024, Biden was again found to be in good health and fit for duty. The report noted that Biden’s stiff gait had not worsened since the previous physical, though there were moderate to severe arthritic changes. O’Connor conducted a neurological exam and found no cerebral or neurological issues contributing to the stiff gait.

The report also mentioned that a lesion removed from Biden’s chest in 2023 required no additional treatment, as basal cell carcinoma typically does not metastasize. Biden was also using a CPAP machine for obstructive sleep apnea and underwent a root canal with no complications.

Dr. O’Connor, who has overseen Biden’s health since 2009, has a close relationship with the president and his family. He was first asked to stay on as Biden’s physician in 2009 and has since built a strong doctor-patient relationship with the president. O’Connor has remained out of the spotlight during Biden’s tenure but has been called upon to address speculation about the president’s health.

Overall, Biden’s official health reports during his time in the White House showed no signs of aggressive prostate cancer and indicated that he was in good health and fit to serve as president. Dr. O’Connor, who has been a trusted physician to Biden for many years, provided thorough and detailed assessments of the president’s health throughout his time in office.
