Police investigate after sexual assault of girl at Halifax Walmart

HALIFAX, NS — Halifax police are investigating the June 10 sexual assault of a girl at a Walmart in the city.

The Halifax Regional Police Department received a report of the incident at 220 Chain Lake Dr. Walmart just before 4:30 p.m.

Police said while at the store, a man sexually touched a girl he didn’t know before fleeing the store.

The man is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old, about six feet tall, of average build and scruffy beard.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a cap, dark pants and a gray T-shirt/hoodie.

Police said they would not release any further details out of respect for the victim.
