Quebec targets 1,006 candidates with high French proficiency or a job offer in Canada

Immigration in Quebec issued 1,006 Canadian immigration invitations to sign up for another draw through the Arrima Expression of interest system.

The June 22 draw focused on two categories of candidates.

The first category consisted of candidates with a francophone proficiency of level 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale, and who scored 626 points or higher in the Quebec Expression of Interest points system.

Candidates with a job offer outside the Montreal metropolitan area fell into the second category. There was no minimum score for these candidates.

How does Quebec Expression of Interest work?

  1. Candidates submit an online expression of interest through Arrima.
  2. Profiles enter an Expression of Interest pool, where they are ranked against each other using a points system and are valid for 12 months.
  3. The highest ranked candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Certificate of Selection under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through periodic draws.
  4. Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application.
  5. Approved candidates who receive a Certificate of Nomination (CSQ) can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residency.

Quebec Expression of Interest Points System

The Quebec expressed interest points system is used to rank profiles submitted through Arrima to the Expression of Interest bank, with the highest ranked profiles invited to apply Immigration in Quebec below the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

Candidates and their spouse or partner can score up to 1,320 points based on human capital and labor market factors in Quebec.

  • French and English combined.
  • Age.
  • Work experience.

  • Work experience in a field with a labor shortage.
  • Qualifications in one of Quebec’s training areas.
  • Education level in Quebec.
  • Professional experience in Quebec.
  • Work experience in the rest of Canada.
  • Vacancy inside or outside Greater Montreal.
