Rainfall warnings in place for much of Nova Scotia

Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings for a large area of Nova Scotia, starting Saturday evening and lasting through Sunday. The forecast predicts 50 to 70 millimetres of rain in Annapolis, Digby, Guysborough, Halifax, Lunenburg, Queens, Richmond, Shelburne, Victoria, Yarmouth, Cape Breton counties, and south of Mabou in Inverness County. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is a possibility due to the heavy rainfall.
The rain is expected to taper off on Sunday, starting in western parts of Nova Scotia and gradually ending in the evening over the eastern parts. Additionally, a Les Suêtes wind warning is in effect for Mabou and north in Inverness County. Wind gusts of up to 110 km/h are anticipated from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence, starting Saturday night and decreasing by Sunday morning. Loose objects may be propelled by the strong winds, potentially causing injury or damage. Drivers should be cautious of strong crosswinds on highways, as they may create hazardous driving conditions.
In light of these warnings, residents in the affected areas should take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and protect their property. Stay informed about weather updates and follow any instructions from local authorities. It is important to secure loose items outdoors and avoid unnecessary travel during the inclement weather.
As always, stay tuned for more updates on this developing weather situation. Remember to prioritize safety and be prepared for any adverse conditions that may arise.
