Search for kids missing from Pictou County home resumes this weekend

Colchester Ground Search and Rescue has announced that they will be resuming the search for two missing children in rural Pictou County. Lilly and Jack Sullivan have been missing since May 2, and searchers will be scouring the woods around Lansdowne Station starting Saturday morning.
Kevin MacLean, the president of Colchester Ground Search and Rescue, stated that the RCMP has requested the volunteers to come together once again for the search efforts. The Nova Scotia RCMP also confirmed that ground and air search operations are planned for Saturday. Various search teams, including ground search and rescue teams, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, and the RCMP, will focus on specific areas around Gairloch Rd. in hopes of locating Lilly and Jack and advancing the investigation.
The search follows a previous extensive search of 5.5 square kilometers of heavily wooded, rural terrain in the Gairloch Rd. area that began on May 2. Despite efforts, the search was scaled back on May 7 in favor of more targeted searches. The RCMP’s underwater recovery team also searched bodies of water around Lansdowne Station on May 8 and 9, but no evidence was found.
The public is urged to avoid the search area to allow trained searchers to conduct their work effectively. MacLean mentioned that volunteers from Colchester, the Strait area, and Pictou County will be participating in the search on Saturday. He added that the focus of the search will likely be on recovery efforts, targeting areas that were not adequately covered in previous searches.
As the search continues for Lilly and Jack Sullivan, efforts are being made to ensure that every possible location is thoroughly investigated. The community remains hopeful for a positive outcome as searchers dedicate their time and resources to finding the missing children.
