Son of NTV CEO shot dead in altercation with California police

The tragic death of Geoffrey Shyam Stirling, son of NTV CEO Scott Stirling, has shocked the Newfoundland and Labrador community. The incident occurred in Newport Beach, California, where Stirling was pulled over by police during a routine traffic stop while riding his motorcycle.
According to reports, Stirling became “uncooperative” during the stop and even went as far as to grab the officer’s taser and attempt to use it against them. The altercation escalated, resulting in Stirling being shot by the officer at around 9:15 p.m. Despite receiving medical aid from additional officers on the scene, Stirling was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The California Department of Justice has launched an independent investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding Stirling’s death.
