Lee Majdoub Shines in Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise
Actor Lee Majdoub’s role in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie franchise has evolved from a small part to a key character thanks to his onscreen chemistry with Jim Carrey.
Majdoub, a Lebanese-Canadian actor, reveals that his rapport with Carrey during filming was so strong that the comedic legend requested more scenes together, leading to an expanded role for Majdoub as Agent Stone, Dr. Robotnik’s devoted assistant.
In the upcoming installment, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” Sonic and his friends face off against Shadow the Hedgehog, portrayed by Keanu Reeves, a former military experiment gone rogue.
Ben Schwartz reprises his role as the voice of Sonic, the iconic blue hedgehog from Sega’s popular video game series.
The film, blending live action with animation, is set to hit theaters this Friday.
Majdoub expresses his excitement at acting alongside his childhood hero, Carrey, and hopes to inspire children of Middle Eastern and North African descent by being part of a mainstream movie.
Returning to the cast are James Marsden as Sonic’s adoptive father Tom Wachowski and Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, Sonic’s ally.
