New House bill would make Trump transgender military ban permanent

Rep. Barry Moore, R-Ala., is making headlines with a new House GOP bill that aims to make President Donald Trump’s executive order banning transgender troops in the military a permanent federal policy. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Moore revealed that his office has been in communication with the Trump administration regarding the proposed legislation.

The bill, titled the Readiness Over Wokeness Act, seeks to prohibit individuals with gender dysphoria from serving in the Armed Forces. It also includes a ban on individuals with a history of gender-affirming care, such as hormone therapy or gender reassignment surgery, from military service. Moore argues that this policy change would not only save taxpayers money but also enhance the overall readiness and effectiveness of the armed forces.

Moore, a veteran himself, emphasized the importance of having fully capable and focused individuals in the military, especially in combat situations. He believes that by preventing individuals with gender dysphoria from serving, the military will be better equipped to fulfill its mission.

A source familiar with Moore’s discussions with the administration shared an email indicating tacit approval of the bill from various government agencies, including the White House Office of Management and Budget, the Pentagon, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Security Council.

President Trump initially signed an executive order banning transgender individuals from serving in the military, a policy that was later upheld by the Supreme Court. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also enforced the ban, leading to the discharge of current transgender personnel. Moore’s bill aims to cement this policy change permanently, making it more challenging for future administrations to reverse.

If passed by both the House and Senate and signed into law by President Trump, Moore’s bill would establish a lasting ban on transgender individuals serving in the military. This move aligns with the Trump administration’s stance on transgender troops and reflects a broader initiative to prioritize military readiness over social issues.

As this bill gains traction in Congress, it remains to be seen how it will impact the debate surrounding transgender individuals in the military. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
