A Dozen Individuals Hospitalized After Boats Collide on Okanagan Lake

A dozen people were taken to hospital after two boats collided on Okanagan Lake near the William R. Bennett Bridge in Kelowna Wednesday night, according to B.C. Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).

BCEHS responded to a call around 8:40 p.m. PT and dispatched seven ambulances, as well as additional units and a supervisor to the scene of the accident.

According to spokesperson Bowen Osoko, 12 patients were transported to hospital, with five in stable condition and seven in good condition.

Response and Recovery Efforts

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue reported on Facebook that the collision occurred south of the bridge. RCMP confirmed that all passengers were safely accounted for, while the Kelowna Fire Department worked to clear the area of the damaged boats to ensure public safety.
