Human remains discovered in Halifax: police

HALIFAX, N.S. — Halifax police say human remains were found in a wooded area near Williams Lake on Tuesday afternoon. 

Around 3 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of possible remains near the 2200 block of Purcells Cove Road. After officers found the remains, the Nova Scotia medical examiner’s office confirmed them to be human.

The deceased has not been identified. 

The investigation is ongoing.
