Trump nominates judge to serve as next US attorney for Southern District of Florida

President Donald Trump made a significant announcement on Sunday, introducing three new members to his administration. One of the key appointments was Judge Jason Reding Quiñones, who Trump nominated as the next U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted Quiñones’ impressive background as a former Federal prosecutor, Justice Department National Security Official, State Trial Judge in Miami, and Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve. The president expressed confidence that Quiñones would prioritize restoring law and order, prosecuting violent crimes, and making America safe again in his new role.
Trump also revealed that Jim Byron would serve as the senior advisor to the acting national archivist, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). With prior experience working with the NARA, Trump emphasized Byron’s understanding of the importance of preserving the country’s history.
Additionally, John Jovanovic was nominated by Trump to serve as the chairman and CEO of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). Trump praised Jovanovic’s extensive experience in finance, investments, and business building across various sectors, including energy, commodities, and critical infrastructure. Jovanovic’s educational background includes a master’s in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in politics from Princeton University.
Trump expressed confidence that Jovanovic would play a crucial role in advancing America’s energy and manufacturing dominance, protecting gains from strong tariff policies, ensuring fair treatment for exports, and prioritizing American companies and energy exports.
As the Trump administration continues its search for a full-time archivist, Byron will manage the archives on a day-to-day basis, while Jovanovic will focus on promoting America’s economic interests in the global market.
This announcement underscores Trump’s commitment to strengthening key sectors of the economy and upholding the rule of law. The newly appointed members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their respective roles, positioning them to make significant contributions to the administration’s priorities.
