Calgary Stampeders in CFL’s Week 12: Red and White back in vogue

Stampeders WR Damien Alford Returns to Practice
Stampeders wide receiver Damien Alford, who had been dealing with a hamstring injury, was back on the field as a full participant in Tuesday’s practice session following the team’s break. Alford, a rookie receiver, had an impressive performance in Week 6 against the Roughriders, racking up 156 yards and two touchdowns on six catches in the win in Regina.
Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. expressed his excitement about Alford’s return, stating, “It’s good, man. The ‘Moose is the ‘Moose’. So if my read takes me to him, the ball is going to him.”
Unfortunately, wide receivers Dominique Rhymes (quad) and Tevin Jones (illness) were absent from Tuesday’s practice. On the defensive side, linebacker Adam Bighill, who had been dealing with a knee injury, was a full participant in practice and his availability for the upcoming game against the Riders is still to be determined. Additionally, starting cornerback Tyler Richardson, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, has yet to return, but defensive back Ben Labrosse was back on the field.
The Stampeders have also announced the addition of American defensive back Brady Breeze to their practice roster. Breeze, a former sixth-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in the 2021 NFL Draft, has appeared in a total of 11 games for the Titans and the Detroit Lions over the past two seasons, recording six tackles. The 27-year-old standout from the NCAA’s Oregon Ducks was named the defensive MVP of the 2020 Rose Bowl.
