Chinese citizen arrested after attempting to get into Mar-a-Lago

A Chinese citizen, Zijie Li, has been arrested multiple times over the past few months for attempting to enter Mar-a-Lago, the Florida residence of President-elect Trump. Li, 39, has been charged with trespassing after trying to gain access to the Palm Beach club in an effort to speak with Trump. This latest arrest adds to a pending charge he received in July, and he is currently being held on $100,000 bail at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center.
Li claimed to have information about a recent assassination attempt on President-elect Trump, which he believed was orchestrated by China. His repeated attempts to enter Mar-a-Lago raised concerns that further incidents involving Li could escalate to the point of enforcement action being necessary. The Palm Beach Police Department, in coordination with the United States Secret Service, has been monitoring Li’s activities closely.
The first incident occurred on July 19, just six days after the initial assassination attempt on Trump. Li entered Mar-a-Lago at the main gate and was stopped by the Secret Service. He informed agents that he had information implicating China in the attempted assassination and wanted to leave documents with them. After receiving a trespass warning, Li continued to visit Palm Beach and attempted to approach the club on multiple occasions.
On October 30, Li asked a resident near Mar-a-Lago to help him gain entry onto the property. The resident alerted the police, leading to Li’s arrest. Following his release from a temporary mental health detention under Florida’s Baker Act, Li returned to Mar-a-Lago and was apprehended by authorities.
It has been revealed that Li was in the U.S. on a student visa from California. His repeated attempts to contact President-elect Trump have raised concerns about security at Mar-a-Lago and the need for increased vigilance. The Secret Service has emphasized the importance of maintaining strict security measures to protect the President-elect and ensure his safety.
As the investigation into Li’s motives and actions continues, the Palm Beach Police Department and Secret Service are working together to prevent any further breaches of security at Mar-a-Lago. Trump’s safety remains a top priority, and measures will be taken to ensure that individuals like Li are unable to gain unauthorized access to the President-elect.
