NASCAR Mexico City: Ricky Stenhouse Jr confronts Carson Hocevar

The NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City provided plenty of excitement over the weekend, with one of the most dramatic incidents occurring well after the checkered flag had waved on Sunday. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Carson Hocevar found themselves in a heated confrontation following a collision in the stadium section of Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
The incident between Stenhouse and Hocevar occurred on Lap 90 of the race, with Stenhouse eventually finishing in 27th place and Hocevar in 34th. The Amazon Prime Video broadcast captured Stenhouse leaning into Hocevar’s vehicle and exchanging heated words with the young driver. When asked about the confrontation, Stenhouse made it clear that he had some choice words for Hocevar and vowed to settle their differences once they returned to the United States.
This latest altercation between Stenhouse and Hocevar is just the latest chapter in their ongoing rivalry on the track. The two drivers have clashed on multiple occasions in recent weeks, with Stenhouse criticizing Hocevar’s aggressive driving after a wreck in Nashville. While it appeared that the two had put their differences aside after the Nashville incident, the tensions between them have clearly not subsided.
The race itself was won by Shane Van Gisbergen, with Christopher Bell finishing closely behind in second place. Other notable finishers included Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, and Michael McDowell, who rounded out the top 10.
As the dust settles on the Mexico City race, it remains to be seen whether Stenhouse and Hocevar will be able to put their differences aside and focus on their performances on the track. With the NASCAR season heating up, fans can expect more drama and excitement in the races to come.
