New Orleans holds vigil to mourn victims of Bourbon Street terror attack: ‘An outpouring of love’

The city of New Orleans was left in a state of mourning after a horrific terror attack took place on New Year’s Day. A man drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers along Bourbon Street, killing and injuring multiple innocent bystanders. The suspect behind the attack was identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a former U.S. Army soldier who had expressed support for the Islamic State militant group. Jabbar was shot and killed by police after he opened fire on officers at the scene of the crash. The FBI later confirmed that Jabbar had acted alone in the terror attack.

As the city grappled with the aftermath of the tragedy, the outpouring of love and support from the community was overwhelming.
