Times Square billboard pops up rallying around ‘historic’ Trump accomplishment during first 100 days

A nonprofit patient’s rights advocacy group has taken a bold step in New York City’s Times Square by placing a billboard praising President Donald Trump for his efforts in delivering on a major healthcare promise within his first 100 days in office. PatientsRightsAdvocate.org (PRA) has placed the billboard from April 28 to May 4, highlighting Trump’s executive order signed in February to make healthcare prices transparent.
The billboard features a picture of Trump resembling Superman with the caption “President Trump delivers healthcare price transparency,” emphasizing his achievement within the first 100 days of his presidency. The executive order directed the departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services to ensure that hospitals and insurers disclose actual prices, not estimates, to consumers. This move is aimed at making prices comparable across hospitals and insurers, including prescription drug prices.
According to PRA, more than one in three Americans have postponed or avoided care due to the fear of unknown costs, and approximately 100 million Americans are in medical debt, which is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the country. The organization believes that Trump’s initiative to provide price transparency in healthcare is historic and will empower patients to make informed decisions about their care.
Cynthia Fisher, the founder and chairman of PatientRightsAdvocate.org, expressed her support for Trump’s efforts, stating that the implementation of real prices, not estimates, will create a functional market where consumers can benefit from competition and choice to lower costs. She believes that this shift will enable patients to shop for the best quality of care at the best price, ultimately leading to healthier and longer lives at a lower cost.
Andrew Bremberg, former assistant to President Trump and director of the Domestic Policy Council, also commended Trump’s executive order, highlighting the president’s commitment to transforming the American healthcare system through price transparency. The White House has estimated that Trump’s original price transparency rules could result in savings of $80 billion for consumers, employers, and insurers by 2025.
The placement of the billboard in Times Square aims to raise awareness about the importance of healthcare price transparency and the potential savings that patients can achieve by shopping for the best prices. States like Ohio have already taken steps to ensure that patients have access to exact prices for healthcare services, allowing them to make informed decisions about their care.
Overall, the advocacy group’s billboard serves as a reminder of the progress made in healthcare price transparency under the Trump administration and the potential benefits it can bring to patients across the country. As the healthcare system continues to evolve, initiatives like these play a crucial role in empowering consumers and improving access to quality care at affordable prices.
