Musk shares chart showing millions of non-citizens given SS numbers under Biden

Elon Musk made headlines during a get-out-the-vote rally in Wisconsin over the weekend when he shared a chart claiming that millions of noncitizens had received Social Security numbers during former President Joe Biden’s tenure. The event took place just before a contentious state judicial race, drawing significant attention.

During the town hall, Musk surprised two Wisconsin voters by handing them $1 million checks after they signed a petition calling for an end to “activist judges.” This move came after the state’s Supreme Court declined to take up a challenge arguing that the sweepstakes was unlawful.

Musk then invited his friend and colleague Antonio Gracias on stage to discuss their work with the federal government’s Social Security system. Gracias revealed that their audit had uncovered shocking information about noncitizens receiving Social Security numbers. A graphic displayed behind them showed a significant increase in the issuance of Social Security numbers to noncitizens during Biden’s administration, with over 2 million issued in FY 2024 alone.

Gracias explained that they had originally set out to identify fraud within the Social Security system but stumbled upon this startling revelation. Musk described the chart as “mind-blowing,” emphasizing the magnitude of the issue.

This revelation comes amidst ongoing investigations by Musk and his team at DOGE into various federal programs and agencies, including the Social Security Administration. They recently removed approximately 7 million Social Security accounts belonging to individuals over 120 years old and discovered that the database contained 20 million accounts registered to deceased individuals.

In response to these findings, President Donald Trump had previously issued an executive order directing public assistance and social services to cease providing benefits to noncitizens. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has since launched an initiative in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security to enhance communication and prevent noncitizens from accessing public housing programs.

The information shared by Musk and Gracias has sparked a renewed focus on ensuring the integrity of the Social Security system and other federal programs. Their efforts highlight the importance of transparency and accountability in government agencies to uphold the intended purpose of public services for U.S. citizens.
