Woman, 63, dies in two-vehicle crash in Colchester County

HILDEN, NS — A woman was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in Colchester County.

A press release from the RCMP said the collision occurred on Highway 2 in Hilden at about 8 a.m. Officers discovered that a Toyota Yaris and a Hummer H2, traveling in opposite directions, had collided and came to rest in the middle of the road.

The driver of the Yaris, a 63-year-old woman from Green Creek, Colchester County, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hummer was driven by a 53-year-old man from Hilden, who was the only occupant. He was slightly injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in the region.

An RCMP collision reconstructor was on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
