Notorious Crazy Eddie fraudster says he’s behind Letitia James mortgage scandal, not Trump administration

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who made a name for herself by taking on President Donald Trump, is now facing accusations of mortgage fraud from none other than Sam Antar, a legendary scam artist with a reputation for sniffing out financial misdeeds.

Antar, known for his role in the downfall of his cousin’s consumer electronics empire, Crazy Eddie, has turned his sights on James after uncovering what he believes to be evidence of financial misrepresentation in her real estate dealings. He claims to have found discrepancies in James’ mortgage applications stretching back decades, suggesting that she may have been inflating her financial situation to secure favorable loan terms.

Antar’s findings have caught the attention of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), which has sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department based on his discoveries. The FHFA accuses James of falsifying records to meet lending requirements and obtain lower interest rates on her mortgages.

James, in turn, has vehemently denied the allegations, attributing them to a vendetta orchestrated by Trump in retaliation for her successful civil fraud lawsuit against him. She maintains that she has always been transparent about her financial affairs and that any discrepancies are the result of clerical errors or misunderstandings.

The accusations against James span multiple properties, including a residence in Virginia that she allegedly claimed as her primary residence despite being a public office holder in New York at the time. The FHFA claims that James misrepresented the property to secure better loan terms, a charge she denies.

Additionally, James is accused of misrepresenting the number of units in a Brooklyn property to qualify for a lower interest rate on her mortgage. The FHFA also alleges that she falsely claimed her father as her husband on mortgage applications to obtain loans as a married couple.

Despite James’ denials, Antar remains steadfast in his belief that he has uncovered evidence of wrongdoing. He insists that his findings are based on meticulous research and documentation, and he is willing to see the case through to ensure accountability and justice.

As the battle between James and Antar unfolds, the stakes are high for both parties. James’ reputation as a crusader against fraud is on the line, while Antar’s credibility as a fraud expert hangs in the balance. Only time will tell how this high-stakes confrontation will play out in the halls of justice.
