Cleanup efforts underway in Kejimkujik National Park following post-tropical storm Lee

HALIFAX, N.S. — Parks Canada is advising visitors that Kejimkujik National Park is closed until further notice following post-tropical storm Lee.
The agency said damages from the storm are minimal, but the site remains without electricity.
Parks Canada crews are onsite clearing debris, while Nova Scotia Power crews are working to restore power.
In addition, the agency said Kejimkujik National Park Seaside is in worse condition and will remain closed while the full extent of damages is assessed.
Other national historic sites including Halifax Citadel, Fort Anne, Port-Royal and Grand-Pré are all open as usual. Georges Island weekend visitation will resume Saturday, Sept. 23.
Another update on the status of the park will be issued mid-day Tuesday, Sept. 19 on the Parks Canada website.
