Palm Beach County renames road after Trump, president praises Florida

President Donald Trump was pleased on Tuesday as Palm Beach County in Florida approved renaming a 4-mile stretch of roadway after him. The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to rename Southern Boulevard, which runs from Palm Beach International Airport to Trump’s residence at the Mar-a-Lago resort.
The resolution to rename the road came after Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation directing the Florida Department of Transportation to erect a sign honoring Trump along the stretch of Southern Boulevard. The new signs, including “PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP BOULEVARD,” are expected to be installed later this year.
In addition to renaming the road after Trump, another section of the roadway will be named “PBSO Motorman Highway” in honor of three motorcycle deputies from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office who tragically lost their lives in a crash last year.
Trump expressed his gratitude on Truth Social, stating, “Thank you to Palm Beach County, Governor Ron DeSantis, and all of Florida’s great State Lawmakers, on granting me this wonderful honor! I LOVE FLORIDA!”
The ceremonial renaming of the road means that postal addresses and emergency-response systems will continue to use the original name, Southern Boulevard. The new names are meant to serve as a symbolic gesture of respect and recognition for Trump and the fallen deputies.
The decision to rename the road after Trump has received mixed reactions from the public, with some praising the move as a show of appreciation for the former president, while others have criticized it as unnecessary and politically motivated.
Overall, the renaming of Southern Boulevard in Palm Beach County is a significant gesture that highlights the impact and influence of President Donald Trump in the state of Florida. The new signs honoring Trump and the fallen deputies will serve as a lasting tribute to their contributions to the community.
