Beadle blindsided by Stephen A. Smith taking over her SiriusXM time slot

Michelle Beadle recently revealed that she was caught off guard by the news that Stephen A. Smith’s new program would be taking over her time slot on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio. Beadle, who hosts the show “Beadle and Decker” with Cody Decker, expressed her surprise and disappointment during a recent episode of the show.
“We weren’t supposed to talk about it, just as a heads up. We were only given a few hours notice, but we weren’t told any details. We were promised that no details would be released. We didn’t even know who was taking our place in the lineup, just that it was going to be announced that a new show was being added,” Beadle shared.
The news came as a shock to Beadle, who found out about the changes through The Hollywood Reporter. She admitted that it was a little embarrassing to be blindsided by the announcement, especially after being in the business for over 20 years.
Beadle, who previously hosted ESPN’s “NBA Countdown,” left the network in 2019. She currently hosts FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” an NBA-focused program. Stephen A. Smith, who works for ESPN, will be joining SiriusXM with his own show starting in September.
Smith announced his multi-year deal with SiriusXM during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show.” He expressed his excitement about the opportunity to reunite with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, as well as the chance to host a show focused on current events, pop culture, politics, and social commentary.
Despite the unexpected changes to her show’s time slot, Beadle remained professional on air and did not mention Smith or the situation. She is focused on continuing to deliver quality content to her audience and is looking forward to the future of her career in sports media.
