Three facing charges after RCMP seize drugs, crossbow, rifle in Round Hill, N.S. home

ROUND HILL, N.S. — Annapolis District RCMP arrested three people on drug and firearms charges after a traffic stop and home search in Round Hill, N.S. on Friday, Nov. 17.

As part of the investigation, RCMP stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 201 and arrested Mark Lane, 54, of Lake La Rose, Jason Randall Beattie, 48, and Emma Marie Welch, 33, both of Round Hill.

Police then executed a search warrant at a home on Hwy. 201 and seized cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepine, hydromorphone, cash, a shotgun, rifle, crossbow and ammunition.

Beattie and Welch have been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of careless storage of a firearm.

Lane is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

All accused have been released on conditions and will appear in Annapolis provincial court on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m.
