House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., commended FBI Director Kash Patel and other Trump administration officials for their commitment to dismantling the “deep state” as federal agents conducted raids on John Bolton’s residence and office.
“I don’t know the specifics of John Bolton’s actions. It is important that he receives due process,” Comer stated on “America’s Newsroom” on Friday.
“However, I have confidence that Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, John Ratcliffe, and Tulsi Gabbard are dedicated to holding the deep state accountable for the errors and abuses of power witnessed over the years.”
Comer highlighted Patel’s recent statement on X, emphasizing that “NO ONE is above the law.”

“Today marks a positive step. We will see what materials Bolton had in his possession,” Comer added.
Meanwhile, Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Ark., the chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, expressed concern and stated that he was closely monitoring the situation.
“While all individuals are innocent until proven guilty, the developments are troubling. Everyone must abide by the law,” Crawford commented, appreciating Patel and Bondi’s professionalism in handling the matter.
Federal agents conducted raids at Bolton’s residence in Maryland and his office in Washington, D.C., reportedly related to potential classified documents in his possession.

Bolton served as President Donald Trump’s national security advisor and was previously the ambassador to the United Nations under former President George W. Bush.
Post his tenure in the Trump administration, Bolton has been vocal in criticizing the president on various issues. In the 2024 election, he announced that he would not support Trump but instead write in Dick Cheney’s name.
Fox News Digital reached out to Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., for a response to Comer’s statements.
