Maple Leafs Place Max Pacioretty on Injured Reserve
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the decision to place forward Max Pacioretty on the injured reserve list due to a lower-body injury, as announced by the team on Monday. This move comes as Pacioretty, a 35-year-old left-winger, has been deemed week-to-week by the Leafs.
Since joining the Leafs, Pacioretty has managed to contribute six points, consisting of two goals and four assists, in 13 games. His journey with the team began in October when he signed a one-year deal after showcasing his skills during training camp on a professional tryout contract.
Pacioretty’s placement on the injured reserve adds to the mounting list of Leafs players facing setbacks. Auston Matthews, the team’s captain, was recently added to the IR due to an upper-body injury, further complicating Toronto’s lineup.
In addition to Pacioretty and Matthews, forwards Max Domi and William Nylander were absent from Monday’s practice session for maintenance reasons, presenting further challenges for the Leafs roster.
Looking ahead, the Leafs are set to face off against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday in their next matchup, where they will aim to overcome their recent injury woes and secure a victory on home ice.
