Trump announces Mark Levin and others for Homeland Security Advisory Council

President Donald Trump has recently announced the members of his revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), which includes conservative commentator Mark Levin, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, Florida state Sen. Joe Gruters, and former NYPD detective Bo Dietl. The president described serving on the panel as a “big honor” and expressed confidence in the expertise and capabilities of the new members.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump stated, “It is a big honor to serve on HSAC, and I know the new Members, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Mark Levin, Bo Dietl, and Joseph Gruters, will do an incredible job.” Under the leadership of Under Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, HSAC will focus on developing new policies and strategies to enhance border security, combat illegal drug trafficking, and prioritize the deportation of criminal offenders.

Mark Levin, a prominent conservative talk radio host and author, is known for his TV show “Life, Liberty, & Levin” on Fox News Channel. Trump has also expressed his support for Joe Gruters, urging him to run for the role of Florida chief financial officer last year. Gruters, in turn, has indicated his intention to pursue the position either through appointment or at the ballot box in 2026 as President Trump’s endorsed candidate.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Jimmy Patronis, who previously served as Florida’s CFO, recently joined Congress after winning the election for former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s seat in Florida’s 1st Congressional District. This development has left the Florida CFO position vacant, with Governor Ron DeSantis having the authority to appoint a replacement. The Florida CFO election is scheduled to take place in 2026.
