President Donald Trump took to the Oval Office on Tuesday to address swirling rumors about his health, asserting that he was “very active” over the Labor Day weekend.
“I didn’t do anything for two days, and they said ‘there must be something wrong with him,’” Trump remarked, dismissing the speculation about his well-being as “fake news.”
White House Provides Health Update
The rumors surrounding Trump’s health began on Friday night and continued into Saturday morning, prompted by a lack of public appearances and images showing bruising on his hand.
However, the online chatter quieted down after Trump was spotted leaving the White House with his grandchildren to visit his golf club in Virginia on Saturday, sporting a white polo shirt and red MAGA hat.

“I was very active over the weekend. I went out to visit some people at the club that I own pretty nearby on the Potomac River. No, I’ve been very active, actually,” Trump emphasized, contrasting his activity level with that of President Joe Biden.
“You wouldn’t see him (Biden) and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong with him,” Trump remarked. “And we know he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.”
Back in July, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt attributed Trump’s hand bruising to “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.” She also mentioned that the mild swelling in his legs was a common condition for individuals over 70 years old.
