Truro, N.S., amongst U-Haul’s top 25 growing cities in Canada

TRURO, N.S. — U-Haul’s Growth Index has listed Truro as one of Canada’s top-growing towns and cities.

While the list is not necessarily an accurate indicator of population and economic growth, it measures how many customers use U-Haul’s vehicles and equipment to move from one place to another.

The Town of Truro is number 16 on the list, right behind Moncton, N.B. They are the only places in Atlantic Canada listed.

Despite Truro’s presence on the list, Nova Scotia saw the second-least growth amongst all the Canadian provinces. Only Ontario is placed below it. The top province was Alberta.

While Ontario placed last, it contains the most towns and cities on the list, with nine. The second most is British Columbia, at seven.

British Columbia jumped from ninth place in 2022 to second compared to last year’s list. New Brunswick fell from first to third.
