Tragedy Strikes Hollow Water First Nation in Manitoba
WINNIPEG — RCMP have confirmed that a mass stabbing incident at Hollow Water First Nation in Manitoba has left two people dead, including the suspect. The attack, which took place this morning in the community located 200 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, has also resulted in at least six individuals being hospitalized.
Details of the Incident
Health officials have reported that two of the victims were airlifted to Winnipeg for treatment, while the others were transported by ground ambulance. RCMP have characterized the attack as a “senseless act of violence” and have assured the public that there is currently no risk to public safety. However, officers remain present in the community and on a nearby highway near Black River First Nation.
Response and Impact
Following the incident, a code orange was declared at Winnipeg’s largest hospital to accommodate the sudden influx of patients. Fortunately, the code was lifted a few hours later. RCMP has stated that they are actively gathering information to determine the exact events of the morning and will provide a more detailed update later in the day.

Hollow Water First Nation, an Anishinaabe community of approximately 530 individuals, is situated along the eastern shores of Lake Winnipeg.
