Two house fires in Annapolis County have displaced residents

The Canadian Red Cross is helping people displaced by two house fires in Annapolis County on Saturday.

No one was injured in either fire, the Red Cross reports.

The first fire was reported at about 2 a.m. on Greenland Road in Greenland, near Bear River, and left a family of four without a home.

The couple and two children are helped by Red Cross volunteers with emergency shelter and purchases such as food, clothing and some other basic items.

A fire in Middleton, reported at about 1pm, caused extensive smoke damage and a loss of electricity to a bungalow on Victoria Road.

The woman who lives in the house is temporarily displaced, according to the Red Cross. Volunteers help her with shelter, food, dry cleaning and other basics.
