ICE deports slew of child predators, gangbangers after Texas city dragnet

In a recent operation conducted by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officials in the Houston area, 142 criminal illegals were deported to Mexico in just the last two weeks. Among those deported were child predators, gang members, and human traffickers, all of whom had been convicted of a total of 473 criminal offenses and had illegally entered the country a combined 480 times.
The deported individuals included 11 convicted child predators, eight documented gang members, and one individual who had illegally entered the country 21 times. Additionally, there were 43 aggravated assault and domestic violence-related convictions, 48 drug trafficking or possession convictions, 22 human trafficking or smuggling convictions, and one conviction for making terroristic threats.
One of the deported individuals, Alejandro Aguilar Vazquez, had been convicted three times of cruelty towards a child. Another, Luis Angel Garcia-Contreras, a documented member of the Surenos 13 gang, had illegally entered the U.S. 21 times and had been convicted of illegal entry four times. Benito Charqueno Zavala, a Mexican national, was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Bret Bradford, ICE ERO Houston Field Office director, expressed concern over the ongoing crisis of criminal illegal immigrants entering the country unchecked. He emphasized the need for a deterrent to illegal entry to prevent dangerous individuals from preying on law-abiding residents.
Ammon Blair, a senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, highlighted the broader crisis unfolding across the nation, with over 650,000 criminal aliens on ICE’s Non-Detained Docket. He stressed the importance of addressing this public safety emergency to protect communities from violence and ensure national security.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s spokesperson, Andrew Mahaleris, commended President Trump for stepping up where the Biden administration had failed in enforcing immigration laws. Mahaleris emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and working to make Texas safer through deportation efforts.
Overall, the deportation of criminal illegals in Houston underscores the ongoing challenges posed by unchecked illegal immigration and the need for strong enforcement measures to protect communities and uphold the rule of law.
