Women seek plastic surgeries to look smaller, more natural
In recent times, the trend in cosmetic surgery has shifted away from the once-popularized “Kardashian” look, characterized by Brazilian butt lifts, breast augmentations, and lip fillers. According to experts, bigger is no longer always better in the world of cosmetic enhancements. Instead, patients are now opting for more natural and conservative aesthetic procedures.
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Stafford Broumand from 740 Park Plastic Surgery in New York noted that patients are seeking smaller, more natural curves, smaller breast implants, and fat grafting for a rounder, rather than enlarged, buttock. The focus is on achieving symmetry in the body and face, as well as soft, full lips for a youthful appearance. Dr. Broumand emphasized that patients are now looking for more natural results rather than overly done enhancements.
Similarly, Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and co-founder of Persana, observed a trend of patients dissolving fillers that were previously injected in excessive amounts or in the wrong places. He highlighted the shift towards a more conservative aesthetic, with patients opting for fat grafting and surgical lip lifts to achieve their desired natural look.
Dr. Lyle Leipziger, chief of plastic surgery at North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center in New York, mentioned a rising demand for a more athletic and physically fit appearance among patients. He also noted a significant increase in breast reductions and lifts, with or without small implants.
The surge in popularity of weight-loss medications like Ozempic has also influenced the trends in plastic surgery. Azizzadeh explained that significant weight loss can lead to changes in facial volume and fat cells, resulting in more requests for facelifts, neck lifts, and fat grafting procedures.
Furthermore, the impact of social media has raised awareness about potential complications of plastic surgery, prompting patients to seek reputable and board-certified plastic surgeons for their procedures. Both Dr. Broumand and Dr. Azizzadeh stressed the importance of choosing the right doctor for optimal results.
In conclusion, the current trend in cosmetic surgery leans towards subtle enhancements that create a natural and effortless look. While the popularity of plastic surgery continues to rise, the focus has shifted to achieving results that appear authentic and harmonious with one’s natural features. Patients are now prioritizing quality over quantity, opting for procedures that enhance their appearance in a more understated manner.
