Trump’s prayer for Israel peace delivered to Western Wall by Huckabee

As Passover and Holy Week came to a close, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee fulfilled a vow he had made to President Donald Trump. In his first act as ambassador, Huckabee placed a prayer from Trump into the Western Wall, a sacred site in Jerusalem.
Huckabee shared that Trump had personally handwritten the prayer and handed it to him at the White House. Along with the note, Trump had given Huckabee a directive to bring it to the Western Wall as his first official act as ambassador.
“This morning, I visited [the Western Wall] in Israel’s eternal capital, Jerusalem, and placed a prayer from [the president] between the stones. On behalf of President Trump and the American people, I say to Israel: our commitment to you is unwavering, and we pray for the immediate return of all the hostages. Israel will never be alone,” Huckabee wrote in a post on social media.
The note from Trump, which appeared to read “For peace in Israel. D.T.,” was included in a photo shared by the Western Wall Foundation. Placing notes like this in the wall is a common practice, with collections taking place before Rosh Hashanah and Passover.
Trump’s relationship with Israel has been strong throughout his presidency, highlighted by the relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem in 2018. He has also maintained a close partnership with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Huckabee’s visit to the Western Wall coincided with the Trump administration’s emphasis on Holy Week, with events led by the White House Faith Office. This included a pre-Easter dinner with faith leaders, where Trump expressed hope for America to remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom.
The White House statement on Holy Week reflected a desire to achieve a future that embodies the values of Christ’s eternal kingdom. As Huckabee’s act of placing Trump’s prayer in the Western Wall symbolized a continuation of the strong ties between the U.S. and Israel, it also served as a reminder of the significance of faith and unity during this sacred time of year.
