Celtics squander another lead to Knicks, then lose Jayson Tatum

The city that never sleeps, New York City, was wide awake for a long time as the New York Knicks made a thrilling comeback against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Knicks, known for their resilience, overcame yet another double-digit deficit in the second half to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Trailing by 14 points with just nine minutes left in the third quarter, the Knicks staged a remarkable comeback, ending the quarter on a 30-13 run to take the lead heading into the fourth. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging blows, but the Knicks eventually pulled away to secure a 121-113 victory.
The turning point of the game came when Jayson Tatum of the Celtics suffered a serious non-contact lower leg injury while going for a loose ball. Tatum was carried off the court and the severity of his injury remains a concern for the Celtics, who are now shockingly down 3-1 in the series.
Four of the Knicks’ five starters finished with at least 20 points, with Jalen Brunson leading the way with an impressive 39-point performance. Game 5 will be back in Boston, where the Knicks previously won both of the first two games of the series. With a win in Game 5, the Knicks will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.
The Celtics now face an uphill battle, as they will have to make a historic comeback from a 3-1 deficit to extend their title reign. Only 13 teams in NBA history have managed to come back from such a deficit, with the last team to do so being the Denver Nuggets in 2020.
The Knicks are in a strong position to close out the series and advance to the next round, but they will need to maintain their focus and intensity to secure the victory. The NBA playoffs continue to deliver thrilling moments and unexpected outcomes, making each game a must-watch event for basketball fans around the world.
