4 more arrested for helping inmates in New Orleans prison break, 5 still at large

Police have made four additional arrests in connection with a daring prison break that took place in New Orleans over the weekend. This brings the total number of individuals accused of aiding the inmates before, during, or after their escape from the New Orleans Jail to 11.

The latest arrests include 18-year-old Patricia Vanburen, 27-year-old Tyshanea “Minnie” Randolph, 47-year-old Lenton Vanburen Sr., and 40-year-old Angel McKey. It was revealed that Vanburen Sr. is actually the father of one of the escaped inmates, Lenton Vanburen.

Authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in New Orleans’ 7th District in an effort to locate the fugitive Vanburen, but he was not found at the location.

The four individuals arrested over the weekend were specifically accused of assisting the younger Vanburen in evading the police. These arrests come on the heels of another suspect, Emmitt Weber, being apprehended for helping two of the inmates post-jailbreak at the Orleans Parish Correctional Facility.

As of now, five out of the 10 escaped inmates are still at large. The most recent arrest was that of Corey Boyd on Tuesday. The other recaptured inmates include Kendell Myles, Robert Moody, Dkenan Dennis, and Gary Price.

Additionally, two individuals, Casey Smith and Cortnie Harris, have been arrested for allegedly aiding the escapees. Another woman, Connie Weeden, aged 59, is facing charges for allegedly providing cash to one of the escaped inmates via a cellphone app. She has been charged with one felony count of accessory after the fact.

The remaining fugitives who are still on the run and considered armed and dangerous are as follows:
