Landscaper charged after allegedly hosting paid party at customer’s vacant home

A North Carolina landscaper, Michael Brown, found himself in hot water after allegedly throwing a massive party at a previous customer’s home in Weddington. The 37-year-old reportedly invited “several hundred people” to the residence where he had previously worked as a landscaper, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Brown, taking advantage of the homeowners being on vacation, charged an entry fee for the party, which he pocketed for himself, police said. When deputies arrived at the scene after receiving noise complaints, Brown initially claimed to be the owner of the property. However, after failing to convince the officers, he then falsely claimed the home belonged to his grandparents.
“After several additional epic failures at telling the truth, he finally admitted he was the lawn guy and had no relation to the homeowners whatsoever,” the sheriff’s office stated.
Several law enforcement agencies were called to the scene due to the large number of partygoers. Some attendees decided to leave recklessly, resulting in numerous traffic stops and further chaos.
Brown was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering, injury to real property, obtaining property under false pretenses, second-degree trespassing, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was booked into the Union County Detention Center, where he was warned not to throw any parties while awaiting bond.
Despite being released on bond, Brown has yet to secure legal representation. Fox News Digital was unable to locate an attorney representing him at this time.
The incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of irresponsible behavior and the importance of respecting others’ property. Let this be a cautionary tale to others who may consider similar actions in the future.
