Mackay Bridge closure to influence the weekend traffic

Weekend Closure Planned for Mackay Bridge by Halifax Harbor Bridges

Halifax Harbor Bridges has confirmed that a closure is still scheduled for the Mackay Bridge this weekend in order to complete critical maintenance work.

The closure will begin on Friday at 8 p.m. and is expected to reopen on Monday at 5:30 a.m. During this time, the MacDonald Bridge will remain open for those needing to cross the harbor.

It is important to note that vehicles weighing more than 3,200 kilograms, with the exception of passenger buses, should avoid crossing the MacDonald Bridge. Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to utilize the active conveyors on the MacDonald Bridge for safe passage.

Drivers are advised to allow for extra travel time, plan ahead, explore alternative routes, and consider utilizing public transportation whenever possible to minimize disruptions caused by the closure.
