Malik Beasley’s basketball future is looking brighter as he is no longer the focus of a federal probe related to alleged gambling activities during the 2023-24 season. According to a report by ESPN, attorneys representing Beasley have confirmed that he is no longer a target of the investigation by the Eastern District of New York.

“Months after this investigation commenced, Malik remains uncharged and is not the target of this investigation,” attorney Steve Haney told ESPN. The news comes as a relief for Beasley, whose career had been put on hold due to the ongoing probe.

Fox News Digital reached out to the US. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York for further comment on the matter.

The investigation into Beasley’s alleged involvement in gambling activities came to light in late June, causing uncertainty around his potential contracts with NBA teams. However, with the recent development, Beasley can now focus on his basketball career without the looming cloud of legal issues.

Beasley, who signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Pistons last year, had a solid performance during the 2024-25 season, averaging 16.3 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per contest.

In addition to the legal hurdles, Beasley also faced challenges off the court, including an eviction order and a lawsuit from Hazan Sports Management Group for breach of contract.

Despite the setbacks, Beasley remains determined to continue his basketball career and put the legal troubles behind him. Fans and supporters are hopeful that he can bounce back stronger and showcase his talent on the court once again.
